Welcome to MetalCountdown
By registering, creating an account, or using any part of the Platform, you (“User”, “you”) agree to this User Agreement (“Agreement”).
This Agreement applies to all users — fans, artists, and visitors — and defines your rights and responsibilities when using our services.

MetalCountdown is owned and operated by Global Music Countdown AB, based in Motala, Sweden.


1. Acceptance of Terms

By using MetalCountdown, you agree to comply with this User Agreement, our Terms & Conditions, and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Continued use after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.


2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to register or use MetalCountdown.
By using the Platform, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into this Agreement and will use the service in accordance with all applicable laws.


3. User Accounts

To access certain features (such as Metal TV, premium memberships, and artist management), you must create an account.
You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your login credentials
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.


4. Artist & Band Profiles

Artists and bands may create verified profiles to promote their music and videos.
By submitting or linking content (e.g. YouTube videos, bios, images), you grant MetalCountdown a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote the content on the Platform.

You confirm that:

  • You own or have permission to share all submitted materials
  • The content does not violate copyright, trademarks, or third-party rights
  • Your material does not promote hate, discrimination, or illegal activities

We reserve the right to remove or suspend any content that violates these rules.


5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post or share illegal, offensive, or infringing material
  • Spam, harass, or threaten other users
  • Manipulate statistics
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated systems
  • Upload viruses or interfere with the Platform’s functionality

Violation of these rules may result in suspension or termination of your account.


6. Shout Outs & Promotional Features

Artists, labels, and festivals may purchase Shout Out credits to promote content in Metal TV or genre feeds.
Credits are purchased through the Platform and are non-transferable and non-refundable.
MetalCountdown reserves the right to approve or deny any promotional material.


7. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, design, and code on MetalCountdown are owned by Global Music Countdown AB.
You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the site’s content without written permission.
All third-party media (e.g. YouTube embeds, album covers) remain the property of their respective owners.


8. Data Collection & Privacy

MetalCountdown collects personal and usage data as described in our Privacy Policy, including via Google Analytics and cookies.
By using the Platform, you consent to this processing and agree to our data handling practices in compliance with GDPR (EU).


9. Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting [email protected].
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Agreement or harm the Platform.

Upon termination, your user data may be retained for legal or security reasons, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.


10. Disclaimers

The Platform and its content are provided “as is”.
We make no guarantees regarding uptime, data accuracy, or content quality.
MetalCountdown is not responsible for errors, omissions, or damages arising from use of the Platform.


11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MetalCountdown and Global Music Countdown AB shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Data loss or corruption
  • Third-party misuse of the Platform or its content

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it.


12. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Sweden.
Any disputes will be settled under the jurisdiction of the Motala District Court (Motala tingsrätt).
