In the heart of the forest, surrounded by rushing streams and whispering groves, a band was born to bring the myths and legends of forgotten days to life through music.

Gernotshagen, named after a long-lost settlement near their hometown of Tru- setal, sings of the grandeur of nature and tells stories of gods, heroes, and transience—of untouched places and local legends that themselves become myths.

What began in 1999 has since evolved into a powerful project that resonates deep within the soul. Rooted in the musical tradition of German pagan black metal, it has grown into an inimitable epic of majestic guitars, atmospheric keyboards, and powerful vocals, echoing with the spirits of the past.
