Lyrics:
Within the silence
Where worlds are colliding
What am I trying to hide

A face in the mirror
I cannot see clearer
The years are passing me by

Caught in the act of acting out
What I think you see in me
A scripted dance
Trapped in the portrait I paint
Day after day
Lost in the echoes of a silent game

I just play pretend
Over and over again
Can't find a way to myself
Misery calls me home

Over and over
I‘m chasing approval
By being someone I’m not

A mask of perfection
Distorted reflections
Of my nature that I almost forgot

Caught in the act of acting out
What I think you see in me
A scripted dance
Trapped in the portrait I paint
Day after day
Lost in the echoes of a silent game

I just play pretend
Over and over again
Can't find a way to myself
Misery calls me home

Hiding truth behind a faceless name
Cause I’m the one to blame
Playing a masquerade

I just play pretend
Over and over again

Deep down I ache
From being someone I'm not
Its eating away at me

I just play pretend
Over and over again
Can't find a way to myself
Misery calls me home

Hiding truth behind a faceless name
Cause I’m the one to blame
Playing a masquerade

I just play pretend
Over and over again

I’m the one to blame
The final act the curtains fall
Wasted youth, revealing truth
And as I fade
The Mask Dissolves
I feel the weight, forevermore
