Ukrainian metal band Krovna has released a new single and music video, “Berserker” — the heaviest, darkest, and most aggressive work in their discography to date. While their previous EP "Six Gates of Memory" was a journey through themes of ancestry, memory, loss, and spiritual cleansing, “Berserker” captures a moment of inner collapse. The title refers to the legendary warriors who would lose control in battle, but in Krovna’s new work, the main battle takes place within a person — between their true self and imposed fears, expectations, and self-hatred.
Through both the song and the video, Krovna explore themes of self-rejection, loss of identity, and the struggle with the part of oneself that society teaches us to see as “wrong.” At the same time, the musicians deliberately avoid offering a single interpretation of the story. “Berserker” is conceived as a dark mirror in which everyone can see their own fear, aggression, loss of self, or, conversely, a path toward self-acceptance. The band therefore leaves room for personal interpretation, inviting listeners not to search for the “right” answers, but to look honestly within themselves.
