"You Are Not Alone" is a song What happens with humans when being exposed to a society that is pushed to pick sides and brainwashed on lies. You feel alone, sad and beaten. But their is light, we need to unite over our differences to evolve and see the truth for what it is. Let go of your dogmas and embrace your fellow man.

The haunting keys and emotive vocals will shatter your soul yet somehow give you the strength to repair and rebuild, to retool and rise. Outshine are a prophetic and outspoken dark alternative metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden.

The band was originally founded by vocalist Jimmy Boman in 1996 as a studio project that grew into a grand adventure that not only featured the band as social critics and cultural theorists, but superb musicians that unleashed a slew of exceptional live performances starting in 2002. Outshine come to Eclipse Records with a rich and storied past, including the fact that they previously released four albums on prestigious independent and boutique record labels, all met with high acclaim by the press, industry insiders, fellow musicians, and most importantly, their fans. The band has done eight US tours between 2005 and 2023, and they toured with Paradise Lost in Europe twice, in 2013 and 2018.

Altogether, the band has done three hundred – plus shows worldwide, and their journey has been glorious and complex, including groundbreaking live performances and wild lawsuits with Swedish tax authorities, as they crafted their message with a musical foundation born of dexterity and passion, while navigating odd happenstances like murder threats and trials concerning lost property. In other words, the band is human and decorated with a world of experience that they offer to us as listeners. In reference to the band’s overall message, it is a rallying cry that appeals to everyone, regardless of social positioning.

We have become a world-divided and Outshine has constructed the road map to find common ground for common people. Strength comes in numbers, and Outshine provide for us note by note, beat for beat the path to equality. The band is for real, they aren’t kidding, and they believe whole-heartedly in their mission. More importantly; however, they believe in us. They believe in you. Musically, this project is all about “team.” Most evident is the use of haunting keys that accompany rich guitar work riding a back beat right in the pocket, almost like mesmerizing groove metal that has gone rogue and reanimated itself into a melancholy black shadow wearing a cloak and hood of cryptic mystery, writing our story and living it.

The music is a catalog of darkness with slivers of sunlight. Despair with an escape hatch. A vision of hope.

Outshine’s new album Truthsayer is an illustration of what could be called “aesthetic anomaly,” with hypnotizing vocals and savage lyrics, haunting keys and power-guitar, funkified drums with an edge and a pop, sharp but with feel, both sides of the coin, a monument of opposites. This seems more than symbolic. It appears to be a welcome message of sorts, inviting us into their vision, their dreamscape, their intricate architecture. They are calling us into the fold. Give the album a listen. It won’t be your last.
