THE OMEGA SWARM already proved with Crimson Demise that they stand for modern widescreen death metal: heavy riffs, dense synth layers, and a production that delivers impact, precision, and atmosphere at the same time.
Founded in 2022 by T. (guitar/synths; SULPHUR AEON) and frontman Christian (vocals; SUEL, ex-WOUND), the band keeps its focus firmly on the present day—ideology, indoctrination, conspiracy belief, consumerism, technological alienation, the climate crisis, and war.
Reinforced by Nils (guitar; Zwielicht), Chris (bass; Sumerian Tombs, SKUM, ex-Beltez), and Max (drums; ex-Misanthrope Monarch, ex-Hallig), they craft a soundtrack for earthly dystopia rather than cosmic horror.
With the new single “The Antitheist,” the band sharpen that perspective, drawing on Christopher Hitchens’ understanding of antitheism: not just disbelief, but active opposition—because for him religion is fundamentally untrue, harmful, and authoritarian. In the lyrics, this becomes the figure of “the antitheist”: reason as a weapon, skepticism as a guardrail, breaking dependencies built on fear and promises of salvation.
For recording, mixing, and production, the band once again worked with Simon Werner (Sulphur Aeon).
Mastering was handled by Ted Jensen (Sterling Sound)—known for work with, among others, Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Behemoth, and Whitechapel—giving “The Antitheist” its final polish.
The lyric video was created by bassist Chris and translates “The Antitheist” into a black-and-white visual journey: dark, intense, and relentlessly mood-driven. A
s a free interpretation of the lyrics in the style of the cover artwork, the clip provides the fitting visual frame—and makes the track hit even harder.
