About the track, guitarist Bob Balch says:
" 'Fight Another Day' was the third song arranged for the record, if memory serves. I wanted to write a song that pulled elements from both 'Hall of the Mountain King'–era Savatage and 'Killers'–era Iron Maiden. The chorus riff was reminiscent of the old MTV theme from the early ’80s, but I wanted to tweak it slightly and then pan it left to right.
Now I’ve spilled my guts, and you know everything that went into the song musically, haha. I gave the track to ex-Pentagram drummer Minnesota Pete Campbell for drums, and he absolutely killed it. Then we shipped it off to ex-Pantera singer Terry Glaze for vocals, and he crushed it as well. Finally, we sent it to Fredrik from Dark Funeral for bass, and he destroyed too. From what I understand, the song is about personal struggles and internal conflict. Hope you dig it!
