Mount Palatine is a Finnish heavy-psych metal band crafting a unique fusion of crushing stoner riffs, sludge-laden weight, and expansive psychedelic atmospheres. Built around long, free-flowing jam sessions, the trio shapes their songs organically—allowing grooves, textures, and dynamics to evolve naturally into powerful, immersive soundscapes.
Formed by the members known as Jean the Baron (vocals/guitar), Count Boogie (bass), and Lord of the Groove (drums), the band has quickly developed a signature style that shifts effortlessly from monolithic heaviness to hypnotic, dreamlike passages. Their music evokes a cosmic journey—raw, spiritual, and deeply atmospheric.
In 2025, Mount Palatine signed with the Italian label Argonauta Records (via Octopus Rising), marking a major step forward. Their upcoming full-length album Wormholy World (2026) promises a deeper dive into their cosmic heaviness, blending ritualistic riffing with psychedelic exploration.
Fans of acts like Elder, Stoned Jesus, or early Mastodon will find Mount Palatine’s sound both familiar and refreshingly distinct.
