LYRIEL

LYRIEL

🇩🇪 Germany

LYRIEL is a German female-fronted Symphonic Celtic Metal band formed in 2003. Blending Symphonic Metal with Celtic Rock, Folk and alternative influences, their sound ranges from atmospheric, medieval-tinged ballads to powerful, classically inspired metal songs with folk colours. At the centre is singer Jessica Thierjung, whose voice combines strength and warmth and shapes LYRIEL’s unmistakable character.

The band released their debut album “Prisonworld” in 2005. A standout track, “Lind e-huil”, is performed in Sindarin (the Elvish language from The Lord of the Rings). “Autumntales” (2006) was praised for its rich atmosphere, while “Paranoid Circus” (2009) featured guest voiceover artist Simon Jäger (German voice of Josh Hartnett/Heath Ledger). With “Leverage” (2012), including a guest appearance by Thomas Lindner (SCHANDMAUL), the title track became one of the band’s most successful songs. “Skin And Bones” followed in 2014, and the EP “TEN” in 2015.

After a creative break, LYRIEL returned in 2023 to celebrate 20 years of music—honouring their legacy while opening a new chapter for the future.
